Greenstone Collection
Handcrafted ceramics using a luscious, rich green glaze which feels grounded and timeless, yet refined enough to feel contemporary—earthy, serene, and quietly luxurious.
The glaze carries subtle variations—cool emerald depths settling into softer mossy highlights—creating a sense of quiet movement and natural balance.

Ceramics processes
Bespoke ceramic pieces can take up to four to six weeks from start to finish, depending on the environmental conditions (pieces take longer to dry in the winter), due to the various processes required to produce a finished ceramic piece.
Firstly, we start by wedging the clay to remove any air bubbles, and prepare the clay for throwing or hand-building.
Next, the clay is shaped by either throwing the piece on a pottery wheel or using hand-building techniques. Once shaped, the piece needs to dry to a leather-hard state before turning (trimming), and adding any decorative elements.
The piece is left to fully dry, then, once dry, it is bisque-fired, where the piece is hardened in the kiln by firing to 950-1050 degrees Celsius.
Following bisque-firing, the glaze(s) can be added. Some of our pieces have up to nine layers of glaze to create unique glaze combinations and effects.
Finally, your piece is glaze-fired, the second and final firing to 1230-1240 degrees Celsius, to vitrify the clay and set the glaze, resulting in a beautiful, completed ceramic piece.
NB: Please be aware that variations of glaze colours should be expected, and depend on the clay used, the number of glaze layers, and the position of the piece in the kiln during the final firing. These are not considered faults, but add to the uniqueness of every piece.
Here is an example of the same glaze being used with different glaze effects due to them being in different locations in the kiln:
We do not apply filters to our photographs, but please note that different lighting and different screen resolution/settings may alter the glaze colours.

"I visited Bloom Ceramics UK just before Christmas at an open studio event, in the hope I’d be able to find some unique Christmas gifts whilst also supporting a small business in my neighbourhood. Well, unique it most certainly is!! You will find a wide selection of beautiful items that you just want to pick up and take home because they’re chic, stylish, good quality and not available in every high street store in the county. Hurrah! I came away with a lovely selection of items that I did not gift in the end! Lovely experience and I would thoroughly recommend."
