Throwing & Hand-building
Taster Workshop
This workshop will give you a taste of both techniques before committing to a longer course. You will prepare your clay, try hand-building techniques and have some time on the wheel.
I can cater for groups of up to three people. You are welcome to BYOB to add to the fun!
You will be able to keep three pots from the workshop, which will be fired and glazed using your choice of studio glaze. Your pots will be ready for collection two weeks after your workshop.
Additional pots can be purchased at £5 each.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Cost: £90pp inclusive of materials, equipment, glazing and firings.
All courses will be available from 1st May 2026 on weekday evenings and Saturdays. Please get in touch to book. I can be flexible to your needs.
Private Throwing Lesson
This lesson will teach you how to prepare your clay and begin throwing on the wheel.
These classes are for one person at a time, allowing for in-depth, one-on-one support with maximum time on the wheel.
You will be able to keep three pots from the workshop, which will be fired and glazed using your choice of studio glaze. Your pots will be ready for collection two weeks after your workshop.
Additional pots can be purchased for £5 each.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Cost: £90pp inclusive of materials, equipment, glazing and firings.

Private Hand-building Lesson
This lesson will teach you how to prepare your clay and begin learning about hand-building techniques.
These classes are for one person at a time, allowing for in-depth, one-on-one support with maximum time making ceramic pieces.
You will be able to keep three pots from the workshop, which will be fired and glazed using your choice of studio glaze. Your pots will be ready for collection two weeks after your workshop.
Additional pots can be purchased for £5 each.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Cost: £90pp inclusive of materials, equipment, glazing and firings.

Private Glaze Combination Workshop
This workshop will teach you to layer your glazes using commercial glazes, primarily from Mayco and Amaco. This workshop is for the more experienced potter - you will need to have three bisque-fired pieces ready for glazing. You will be able to glaze three pieces, which will be fired, ready for you to collect two weeks after the workshop.
These classes are for up to three people at a time, allowing for in-depth, personal support.
You are welcome to BYOB to add to the fun!
Duration: 2.5 hours

Six-week Private Throwing Course
This course will teach you the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel, turning and glazing your pieces. You will have three weeks of throwing practice, two weeks of turning practice and one week of glazing.
You will receive one-on-one tuition & support, and will be able to keep six pots from the course, which will be put through both the bisque and glaze firings.
Additional pots can be purchased for £5 each.
Duration: 2.5 hours x 6 sessions
Cost: £450pp inclusive of glazes and firing.
